I *loved* Mr. Bennet's character from the very beginning, but I didn't know if I liked him as a person It seems that for the first several episodes a whole lot of people were convinced that the writers were just handling their villain badly, while I just went "hm, something fishy is afoot. I like it." Then somewhere around the third ep I realized that he was a good man, even if he may never be a do-gooder. I've got this thing for morally ambiguous men who behave as or become heroes for someone they love.
I'm leaning toward the deja vu option Me too. Although Claude probably still hasn't realized that he was being helped (it was the most bass-ackward help ever). Should make for an interesting encounter when they finally meet up again.
Claude needs to have lots and lots of sex, though. Possibly with Peter. While invisible. Which when you think about it, makes for some interesting quasi-exhibitionist scenarios...
