Does DW-to-LJ crossposting even still work? I guess we'll find out.
Things got super-busy in alternately awesome and stressful ways (sometimes both at the same time), and even when I had surplus time to futz on the internet, blog-type fandom seemed a very awkward thing to get back into... I mean, it's been a while, and it's one thing to post many months of my life all at once, but trying to piece together what my many anonymous vague acquaintances have been up to in this time is another entirely. But here I am. I missed y'all, and anyways blogging is much cheaper than therapy. ;)
So... what have I been up to. I suppose bullet-points are the best way to keep it brief...
So...yeah. That's pretty much my life right now. Same old hobbies are same and old (with more time than previous spent on airsoft, and LARP than before), now with added homebrewing (more on that some other time - there be mead in progress right now!) and power tools, etcetera, etcetera. Basically, my life is pretty awesome right now... but the couple of ways in which it is not awesome really eat at me sometimes, and a big part of that is because I'm now a long way away from most of my cool artsy college friends, and Facebook just doesn't cut it sometimes. Then I remembered that I missed you guys, too, and blogging is an excellent way to catch up with all sorts of folks, so here I am. Hi. I'll try to catch up with your stuff soon, work and project schedules willing... :)

So... what have I been up to. I suppose bullet-points are the best way to keep it brief...
- Trying to single-handedly costume The Producers (which I was just getting started on as of my last non-food-related post) defeated my time-management skills... the show went on and looked wonderful, but not only was it insanely, embitteringly frustrating (details upon request - I love ranting about it, but now is not the time), in order to pull it off I had to drop Anth of SE Asia and fail Directing (and a 1-credit audition workshop)... meaning I had to come back for one more semester in Fall 2011 (and I technically didn't really graduate until May 2012 due to a paperwork hangup). It was actually a very good semester, though - for all the chaos, I felt like I did Real Things with my second attempt at Directing, and came out pretty certain I had something solid to offer the world (even though stressed myself into looking like a skeleton in graduation pics)
- The boyfriend (known on the internet as El_Phantasamo) is my fiancee now. There wasn't a proposal so much as a mutual realization of the inevitable. :P I spent summer 2011 at his house, and spent a lot of time on a Greyhound bus visiting him during the Bonus Semester (hence the chaos), and hosted a magnificent Thanksgiving dinner for both sets of parents, and officially moved in with him the day after my last final exam as an undergraduate (aka Christmas Eve Eve of last year).
- Speaking of, El_Phantasamo and I are co-parenting three ginormous rabbits - Bubbles, Squirt, and Darla. Squirt is the biggest at nearly 20 lbs of only-a-little-bit-chubby (I like to describe him as the young William Shatner of his breed), Darla and Bubbles are both about 16 lbs, with Bubbles being normal-bunny-shaped and Darla being long and skinny. Their first birthday is Wednesday. <3
- I currently work in an agricultural lab, doing soils intake. I got the job back in March because I needed to pay off student loans, and a friend of mine had just had one of his minions quit with no notice, so now he's my immediate supervisor, too. Cue the "The pay is good, but my boss is a little... ::spinny-finger insanity gesture::" jokes... which, to be fair, is actually pretty damn accurate, the man is just plain weird, but in a hilarious way, and is also pretty good at being a boss.
- I haven't done any theatre things since my directing final. This is a PROBLEM. Right now I live in a smallish ultra-conservative town, the sort of place where the only public art pieces are war memorials and pictures of Jesus, I had to cut off my mohawk so people don't cross the street to avoid me (which unfortunately means I now have to actually talk to narrow-minded douchebags), and I don't even have a workable creative outlet. Occasionally making LARP garb in between stupid-long work days and weekends that refuse to not have some sort of obligation in them doesn't count - it's not even enough to maintain my skill level, which is freaking me out. Madison and Milwaukee, excellent theatre communities in both cities, are commuting distance away, but I can't even try to get a theatre gig because the one vehicle we have that I can drive (I can't manual) is undrivable due to problems that really should have been fixed a year and a half ago, but haven't been (and they aren't things I can fix myself). Work is backing off, so soon I should have time to get my portfolio in order and light some fires in the right places, and maybe get this problem fixed... at very least I should have enough time to get my sewing skills back to where they should be. So, things are looking up (especially in the light of the next item on this list), but things could look right back down again next time I have a bad day.
- On a much less depressing note from that last bullet... I made it to TeslaCon this year! It was epic, I already have tickets to next year. Right now I'm debating whether or not to volunteer directly with the con... I'm already sort of planning on contributing by becoming a member of the Red Feather Dueling Society (which aims to establish Victorian dueling practices at steampunk conventions by providing safety gear, approved weapons, and an isolated corner for mayhem, so as reduce the occurrence of random hallway-duels... hotel security does not like hallway duels, and steampunk conventions are currently rather close to being blacklisted by the entire hotel industry), which pulls the double-whammy of contributing to the con AND getting me back into SCA fencing (RFDS is largely a SCAdian effort). But... the theme for next year, "The Congress of Steam," is amazingly cool in a way that may very well have some real-world importance, and I want to be part of it. Plus, I am planning EPIC GARB for next year. It'll be awesome.
